Why the Fit Community

Last week I talked about why community in life matters but today I want to share why I believe everyone needs a fitness community in their life as well.

I believe every woman needs COMMUNITY & ACCOUNTABILITY in their health journey. We know that our health matters to God and how we steward it is an act of obedience, but for most (notice I didn’t say all) it can be very hard to do it alone.

Here are 3 reasons I believe women NEED community and accountability in their health journey:

1.) We need others to help us up when we are down and celebrate us when we do what we said we were going to do! I have a lot of amazing friends who love Jesus and spur me on to be more like him BUT being healthy & moving their bodies isn’t a priority to all of them in this season of life. While they will always be some of my very best friends, I also need women I can share my personal health goals with that spur me on to be better and always aiming for more.

For some women they may need someone in their life outside of friends and family to share their journey with. Fitness and health can be a very intimate thing for some women, so having women outside their circle of every day friends and family to share with can be very important in order to see true change.

No matter how excited you start off, eventually, you’re going to have a day (or a week, or a month) where your motivation wanes and your excuses win out… unless you have a plan in place to overcome those psychological challenges.
That’s where accountability partners & groups can swoop in and save the day! If you are real with them about what you are struggling with they can be a huge encouragement to you.

2.) We need to see others doing it. Seeing other women set goals and accomplish them helps us push ourselves and do what we set out to do.

Studies have shown that people are more likely to stick with a fitness plan when they have support. It makes sense — we’re all guilty of occasionally putting our own goals on the back burner, but it’s a lot harder to let a friend or group down when we see them setting goals and hitting them.

3.) Accountability partners and the fitness community makes working out more fun. Sharing your goals, jumping on zoom together, sharing recipes and encouraging each other makes fitness A LOT MORE FUN! I think fun is one of the most important parts of our fitness journey because truthfully we are much more likely to stick with our fitness program and goals if we are having a good time.

So what are you waiting on? We would love to have you as a part of our Fit for His Glory Fitness Community. Just think how much more likely you’d be to show up consistently when everyone around you is doing it too! You will be added into a private group on the exclusive Beachbody app + our private group me chat— that’s where the fun begins. You’ll make friends. You’ll celebrate each others’ success. You’ll hold each other accountable and go through the process together! So, do me a favor and think about this… how much more likely you would be to succeed if you had a group of like-minded people cheering you on daily? I’ll tell you… 99% more likely! Together we are better. Accountability and community are the secret sauce!
